Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament for Ellembele, as part of the Christmas and New Year festivities, has organised a party for children of Ambianu at the AYA Community Centre.

The celebration, the fifth in series, brought hundreds of children from deprived communities in the constituency together to foster social integration and unearth their innate capabilities through games, singing, and dancing among other things.

Mr Buah, addressing the children, said: "Very soon we would be older and you would take the mantle of leadership from us. Therefore, it is important we train, empower and give you all the necessary exposure that would build your confidence.'

The MP said it was prudent to bring the children together to play with their peers and encourage them to work hard to be successful in life.

Giving a personal example, he said as a child he had to struggle through difficult times with his single parent, after the demise of his father, and admonished the children to take their education seriously, be determined and stay focused on their ambitions.

Mr Buah said the AYA Community Centre would continue to be a recreational ground for the marginalised, vulnerable and socially disadvantaged persons.

He advised the children to be of good behaviour and support their parents at home. He later presented assorted gifts to them.

The children, who were accompanied by their parents, expressed their deepest appreciation to the MP for the party and promised to rally behind him in all his endeavours.
