NDC Ayine Dares Government And Reaffirms Responsible Opposition
JAN 3, 2018 LISTEN

Former Deputy Attorney-General (A-G), Dr Dominic Ayine says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will continue to put the government on its toes, despite attempts to muzzle its voice.

Speaking to Emefa Apawu on Joy FM’s Midday News Wednesday, Dr Ayine said the NDC is made up of citizens, and not spectators, and is committed to protect the national interest.

The lawmaker said the reactions of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to criticisms of the Minority over the $2.25 bond issued in April last year, are “surprising.”

Reacting to the report on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Mr Dame said CHRAJ’s report provides “unnecessary ammunition to mischief makers” especially those in the Minority in Parliament.

But Dr Ayine said there is nothing wrong with CHRAJ’s findings because the Commission thoroughly enquired into the matter and made its ruling.

To the effect that breaches of the law had taken place the NDC will not be quiet on the matter, he said.

“If you see a breach of the law that is an indication of a potential conflict of interest situation,” the Bolga East Member of Parliament (MP) said.
