Mampong Municipal Assembly failed to elect Presiding Member (PM) after two consecutive voting on Friday as none of the two contesting candidates was able to secure 34 votes of the 50 Assembly Members as proscribed by law.
In the first round,Mr Stephen Asamoah pulled 15 votes while Mr Solomon Nyantakyi, had 29 with 4 rejected ballot papers;and in the second round,Mr Stephen Asamoah got 22 votes as against 26 obtained by Mr Solomon Nyantakyi.
The District Electoral officer said a new date would be announced for another election in January after consultation with the management of the Assembly.
