Community plans development projects

Tankor (B/A) July 21, GNA - The Chiefs and people of Tankor, a farming community in Nkoranza District, have discussed plans towards the development of the area. Nana Baffoe Tuah, Odikro of the area who addressed the meeting advised the people to remain in unity and cooperate with one another so that they would be able to share ideas to initiate programmes that would move the community forward.

Nana Baffoe Tuah deplored the negative attitudes of the youth of the area who very often engage themselves in politics and challenge the views of others which at times even create barriers between them and said the people should never allow themselves to be divided by party politics to affect the development of the area. He called for the collaborative efforts of the unit committees, the assemblyman and the elders of the community and they would be able to organize the people for the development of the area. .. Nana Sarfo Kokroko, Gyasehene of the area said NPP and NDC members were not enemies and that for the fact that the community was dominated by the members of the two political parties did not mean that they should be at logger heads. Nana Sarfo Kokroko emphasized the need for parents to enrol their wards in the schools so that they could acquire knowledge that would make them responsible future leaders of the state. The Unit Committee Chairman of the area Mr. John Worae stressed the need for the youth to be very active in communal labour activities so that they would be able to initiate more development programmes in the community.

Mr. Simon Ameyaw, representative and member of the Yefri Area Council that serves the Tankor Community, congratulated the newly appointed District Chief Executive Mr. James Appiah-Awuah and wished him good luck and all the best in his endeavours. Mr. Ameyaw also commended the assembly members of the Nkoranza District Assembly for voting to confirm the DCE on his nomination and said they should sustain their cooperative spirit to enhance the total development of the district.

Among those present at the forum were the unit committee Secretary Mr. Amporfo Boamah, Mr, Kofi Antwi and Miss Amma Agyeiwaa, Unit Committee members.
