Queen Esther Otuonye, the reigning Miss Health Africa has said she is looking forward to immortalizing the memories of her Mom Mrs. Victoria Otuonye who died of cancer not too long ago.

Queen Esther made this known in Abuja on the sidelines of a Medical Outreach in Kpaduma Village, Asokoro organized by Miss Health Beauty Pageant in collaboration with AIT recently.

Queen Otuonye whose mother’s death still feels like a dream to her having to describe her Mom in the past, attributed her as her first teacher, the first guide and confidence “To the world you might have been one person but for me you were the world, you were the truest and dearest Mom”, Queen Otuonye said.

While paying tribute to her Mom, the Second year Medicine and Surgery Undergraduate of Adeleke University said; “you were a precious gift from God to me, so much beauty, grace, love and patience you possessed. You touched my heart in so many ways, your strength and smile even in the dark days made me realise how strong a woman you were”

Continuing, Esther eulogized her Mom thus: “Though you didn’t build houses, mansions or palaces but you built me and my siblings. You didn’t leave millions in your Bank account but you left enduring legacies worth more than millions. You were a virtuous wife and Godly mother famed for your patience and enduring spirit. You not only taught me the way of the Lord, you led me in the way by your exemplary life”

Furthermore, she recounted how she watched her mother fought and prayed to be alive. Expressing the love she and her Mum shared, Queen Esther noted that her Mum loved her so much and wanted to keep holding on tight, but then she finally gave her hands to God, when all her strength was gone and she couldn’t hold on any longer. “I will forever salute you Mom because you have been all I needed in my life. God gave me the best Mom in the world. I will never give up on my dreams Mom. I promise to be that daughter you will be very proud of “, Queen Esther concluded.

No doubt the death of Mrs. Victoria Otuonye came at a time our new brand Miss Health Africa needed the advice and encouragement of a Mother, but the Abia State born Queen is not deterred in any way in her planned advocacy outreaches and projects geared towards putting smiles on the faces of those who are in one form of health condition or the other while looking forward to springing up programs that will reduce poor health condition in Africa to the barest minimum.

The 19 year old Queen Esther Otuonye whose vision is to leave an enduring legacy worth more than billions noted with optimism that by the virtue of losing her Mom to the cold hands of death via Cancer she is spurred into using her office to do more to the memory of her precious Mom.

We cannot but agree more. Describing the 2017 Miss Health Africa as an enigma is likely an understatement; she always looks for new and creative ways to express her ingenuities and innovations. Nigeria and indeed Africa at large is lucky to have a Health Ambassador like her.
