DEC 10, 2017 LISTEN

The leadership and members of the Germany Branch of the New Patriotic Party has congratulated H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his tremendous achievement in his first one year in office as the President of the Republic of Ghana.

The National Chairman, Rev. Alex Acheampong in his congratulatory message reiterated that indeed H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has proven his trustworthiness and incomparable desire to give equal opportunity to all Ghanaians irrespective of their socio-economic status and affiliation.

Rev Alex Acheampong emphasized that inadvertently, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo has delivered on his promise of bringing hope to all Ghanaians. He indicated that exactly a year ago on the 7th of December, 2016 Ghanaians voted massively for H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP to restore the lost glory of Ghana.

The NPP in their bid to serve the people of Ghana made eminent promises that envisioned salvaging the people of Ghana from the mal-governance of the Mahama led NDC government. Prominent among the promises made by the then flag bearer of the NPP, H.E. Nana Akuffo-Addo which made Ghanaians to repose confidence in him was the introduction of the flagship Free SHS policy which today has put smiles on the faces of 400,000 Ghanaian students from Junior High Schools and their parents across the country.

Again, the restoration of the Nurses Trainee allowance which was hitherto scrapped off by the one-time Mahama led NDC administration has brought a remarkable financial relief to the Nursing Trainees.

He added that the government's potent Economic Management Committee led by the Vice President, H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has instituted prudent Macroeconomic policy initiatives. Some of which include, the Paperless policy at the Ports which has increased government Revenue at the port from GHc130 million in the first week of September 2016, to GHc213 million in the same period for 2017. Moreover, the launch of the maiden Digital Property Addressing System popularly known as the “Ghana Post GPS” is going to create an avenue for new businesses, enhance security, and aid systematic revenue collection.

Again, more jobs are going to be created from the implementation of the One-District-One-Factory Policy which was launched during a sod cutting ceremony for the construction of the Ekumfi Fruits and Juice Limited at Ekumfi in the Central Region. The construction of the factory will be completed in 2018 and will create over 4,000 direct jobs and also employ some 5,000 out-growers. In addition, 173 projects will be carried out by private businesses with support from the government.

Other achievements worth mentioning are the introduction of the Planting for Food and Jobs and the One-District-One-Warehouse Program to increase Agricultural productivity and ensure food security. The Tax exemption policy for under-35 young entrepreneurs will also enhance youth entrepreneurship in Ghana.

He further pointed out that the NPP has abolished excise duty on petroleum, levies imposed on ‘kayayei’ by local Authorities, levies imposed on religious institutions by local Authorities, reduced National Electrification Scheme Levy from 5% to 3%. He added that the government has also directed the PURC to consider a reduction in utility tariffs to lessen the burden of Ghanaians.

Rev. Alex concluded that considering the endless achievement of the NPP government led by H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo in his first one year, it is evident that the NPP government can convincingly deliver on all its promises made to Ghanaians as enshrined in the NPP 2016 Manifesto which promises to bring hope to the good people of Ghana.

He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to be patient with the President, H.E. Nana Akuffo-Addo to correct the economic mess created by the Mahama led NDC in their 8 wasteful years to bring Ghana back on track.
