Megapixels Studio, an event management firm on Friday launched the Jamestown Street Carnival and Fair in Accra aimed at reaching out to the people of Jamestown to tackle pressing developmental issues in the area.

Nii Ayitey Africanus, Director for the Fair, said the two-day event which starts from December 26 to 27 will bring together indigenes of Chorkor, Jamestown and its environs and abroad to experience the rich Ghanaian culture and tradition.

He said their outfit would use the opportunity to feed and clothe over 2,000 kids between the ages of four to 15 on the first day of the event.

Mr Africanus said the event would provide opportunity for players in the arts and tourism industry to showcase their products and services to the public.

He said national cohesion was one of the pillars of the fair and that this can be achieved when people understand each other and work hard toward helping one another to reach the goal of national development.

He urged public to help start a revolution that would lead to social cohesion and financial independence through cultural exhibition, networking and national unity.

Mr Fredeick Ebo Hinson, the Public Relations Officer, said the event would attract tourists and musicians both locally and internationally and encouraged the public to participate in the programme to showcase the country's culture.
