Accra, Dec.08 - (dpa/GNA) - British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has congratulated Prime Minister Theresa May for securing a Brexit deal and says the country must now "take back control" of its laws, finances and borders.
"Congratulations to PM for her determination in getting today's deal," Johnson, who is widely seen as a potential leadership challenger to May, wrote on Twitter.
"We now aim to forge a deep and special partnership with our European friends and allies while remaining true to the referendum result - taking back control of our laws, money and borders for the whole of the UK," he said.
His tweet echoed the mantra used by Johnson and other pro-Brexit politicians in their Leave campaigns before last year's Brexit referendum.
