Moringa School Partners with MEST To Bring Technology Courses To Talent Across Africa

4th November 2017, Accra, GH; Nairobi, Kenya - Pan-African entrepreneurial training program, seed fund, and incubator MEST today announced a partnership with Moringa School to offer Moringa School's world-class technology training courses in all regions where MEST operates. Moringa courses will be offered at MEST Incubators in Cape Town, Lagos and Accra. With Moringa’s entry into the new markets, aspiring technologists will receive access to their 20-week program and career placement services.

MEST recently launched Incubators in Lagos and Cape Town, as part of a larger Pan-African expansion initiative, and, for the first time, startups that have not gone through the MEST program can apply to join the Incubators as community members. The partnership comes after Moringa ran a successful Moringa Prep (fundamentals of programming) course at the MEST Accra campus in September 2017.

Moringa, which started operations in April 2014 in Nairobi, has expanded its offering in Hong Kong and Ghana, and recently launched in Pakistan through a partnership with the World Bank. The MEST partnership will enable the program to gain a foothold in West, and Southern Africa, and get to leverage both current and future MEST facilities to expand its courses across the continent.

In the partnership, MEST will also receive access to the Moringa alumni network and community to recruit for its Accra-based Entrepreneurial Training Program. Every year, MEST selects 60 aspiring entrepreneurs from Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Ivory Coast to apply to join the program, and this partnership will help maintain a strong recruitment pipeline of highly skilled and motivated individuals interested in building globally successful software companies.

Moringa School is a world-class learning accelerator seeking to provide young, talented Africans with digital and professional skills training. Moringa programs are divided into two courses: Moringa Prep, a five-week intensive program that introduces students to the fundamentals of programming including Javascript for web.
