NUGS Worried Over Mysterious Deaths At Kumasi Academy
02.12.2017 LISTEN

The National Union of Ghana Students with a heavy heart calls for raft attention for the Kumasi Academy following reports of the death of two students from an unknown cause.

It is worrying chiefly because 4 students were reported dead from the same school by graphic online (three deaths reported on the 1st of April and another death as reported on 3rd April 2017).

It is worrying not only because of the losses but also because similar future occurrences if keen attention is not paid to addressing the issue.

The National Union of Ghana Students through its Regional SRC bloc would in the coming days roll out a plan in addressing the myriad of issues emerging from the various SHS campuses across the country. We at NUGS believe that these young men and women require our absolute commitment towards their well-being, hence the need for our prompt action towards their needs. Among the issues to be talked include the

-issue of smuggling of food items by school officials as reported from GHANASS,

-reported issues on the closure of Afia Kobi and Nungua SHS,

-issues on the suspension of 15 students at Krobo Senior High schools as a result of reasons including overstay of exeats and visitation by boyfriends.

These are worrying developments that we at NUGS would lead the charge towards addressing same.
