Stop Directing All Job Opportunities Online—NPP Youth Activist

NPP Stop Directing All Job Opportunities Online—NPP Youth Activist
NOV 7, 2017 LISTEN

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Youth Organiser Hopeful, Bright Essilfie Kumi, said they are sick and tired of ministers and Government appointees who constantly refer party sympathizers to online job hunting anytime they are confronted with unemployment situations.

“Telling the youth to go online and submit their CVs and all that. When we were looking for votes they never told us to go online or we never told them everything will be done online. So we must make all the opportunities we have created openly accessible and known by all,” he stated.

Mr. Kumi cautioned party leaders to stop maintaining everything online if they ever want to retain power come 2020.

According to him, the ‘pick and fill’ job application process was more secured and better way than the current practice where job opportunities are largely online based mostly at the detriment of their party members who are not online savvy.

Mr. Kumi said this at the handing over ceremony of NPP TESCON, University of Professional Studies Branch, held recently.

The event was on the theme “Make Government Youth Employment Initiatives Known and Accessible by Our Youth.”

“TESCON happens to be our only source of our academic legacy in the future so I implore the Deputy Employment Minister and Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to stop directing all the job opportunities online and then make them accessible for the members,” he stated.

Speaking from the NPP perspective, the situation, he added not only renders their members still jobless but also undermines the trust and confidence they reposed in leaders of the party following the massive job promises which helped brought the party into power.

“Most of the job opportunities they claim they have established are all directed towards online. “Go online there is a portal we are developing because everything is electronic base” as it has constantly been repeated at the event,” he intimated.

Bright Essilfie Kumi stated, “They claim they have done a lot at the Ministries and Youth Employment Agency (YEA) but none of the youth know all these. So if at the University level they do not know the policies and opportunities created by government how can they access it let alone those of our members who are not in tertiary or TESCON.”

He urged the youth to learn more on the policies and programs of the party in order to be effective and knowledgeable future leaders to defend and maintain the principles and policies of the NPP.

“When the party came into power you were expected to position yourself by adjusting and changing your mental perception about volunteerism because you are not the only University that helped the party come to power. But when you make yourself relevant you can direct your programs towards getting the benefits,” the aspiring National Youth Organiser concluded.
