The Tekpan Anyobank Association (TAA) a non-governmental organization has called on Mr Thomas Mbomba, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Tatale/Sanguli to help address the perceived insecurity in the district.

They made the appeal when they called on DCE in his office and used the opportunity to congratulate him upon his appointment and assumption of office.

The Association appealed to the DCE to ensure that a Police post is set up on Nyojador to Zabzugu, Tatale/Sanguli and Tatale to Sangbani roads to avoid the persistent armed robbery cases in the area.

A statement issued by the group and signed jointly by Mr Simon Libalgma Kuwella, Founder of TAA and Mrs Rose Npoangna, the General Secretary, said an armed robbery attack on May 21 this year led to the death of four individuals in their attempt to assist the police apprehend the robbers.

The statement said that the recent spate of armed robberies re-enforces the need for the District Assembly to provide a police post in the areas aforementioned.

The association also called for the extension of the Rural Electrification Project to the various communities in the district to improve standard of living of the people in the district.

The TAA also called on the DCE to help promote girl-child education in the district to clothe girls with the capacity to take part in governance and decision-making in the area.

The NGO also called for the inclusion of women in governance process in the Tatale/Sanguli District Assembly either through elections or as government appointees.

The NGO called on the District Assembly to promulgate by-laws to prohibit the abuse of females in the district and called on the DCE to help curb the issues of forced-marriages which had become rampant in the area.

Mr Mbomba lauded the women for their contribution towards ensuring peace and unity in 2016 general election, which was violent-free for the first time in the history of the district.

He assured the association of the government's readiness to support women in the district

The Tekpan Anyobank Association was formed in 2014 at Nyojador with a current membership of 3,015.
