Fun Games Held To Commemorate Teachers Day

The Ekumfi District branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), at the weekend organised fun games to commemorate this year's World Teachers Day.

This year's celebration was on the theme; 'Teaching in Freedom, Empowering Teachers'

Madam Martha Addo, the Assistant Director in Charge of Supervision, commended the participating teams for showing maturity and sportsmanship during the games.

She said the theme was appropriate as it highlighted the importance of teacher empowerment for providing quality education and building sustainable societies for all.

She admonished the teachers to be mindful of their responsibility to serve as worthy ambassadors of morality, patriotism, peace and upholding high sense of professionalism in every aspect of their work.

Madam Addo gave the assurance that GES would do anything possible to grant teachers the freedom to execute their duties professionally in a conducive and friendly environment.

She urged them to take Teachers Day celebrations seriously and actively involve themselves in all activities to commemorate the day.

A men football match, organised as part of the activities, saw the Enyisam-Narkwa local and their counterparts Essuehyia- Essakyir local ending in 2-2.
