WordDigest: Slay The Invisible Giant (12) Selfishness

"The woman whose son was alive was deeply moved out of love for her son and said to the king, "Please, my lord, give her the living baby! Don’t kill him!" But the other said, "Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two!

Then the king gave his ruling: "Give the living baby to the first woman. Do not kill him; she is his mother."

We are told two prostitutes both had a baby on the same compound.

Unfortunately one woman lost her baby at night.
Later both women presented themselves to King Solomon.

So that King Solomon may settle the dispute over whose baby was alive or dead.

One woman had rolled over on her baby to death at night.

Having notice her counterpart baby was alive , she exchanged her dead baby with the alive one that very night.

In her quest for justice she claimed the alive baby was hers.

What sort of woman was she?
Your guess may be as good as mine.
You are agree she was not only wicked but selfish too.

It was remiss of her to put up such a behavior.
No remorse for killing her own child.
Come to think of it, she was sentimental.
These are some signs of selfishness.
Today, selfishness is driving people in offices, schools, churches, organisations to think and act evil towards fellow cohorts.

Seemingly other forms of selfishness are happening all over.

And that makes 'selfishness' an invisible giant damaging the reputation of others bit by bit.

That is why you have to uproot this force if you have such a mindset , before it becomes a giant.

How can you avoid being selfish?
Do not think evil of anyone and be content with what you have.

From the scriptures, through divine wisdom, King Solomon ruled in favor of the woman who had not rolled over her baby to death.

Do not be selfish!
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Prayer
Dear God, give us divine strength to do away with selfishness in Jesus' name, Amen.
