President of Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara has called on Ivorian nationals living in Ghana to return home to help in economic development of the country.
He made the call while speaking to the press on Tuesday to end his two-day official visit to Ghana to discuss how the two countries can collaborate to boost ties between them.
Matters that have been discussed included entering agreements to find ways to implement the ITLOS ruling that settled the maritime dispute between the two countries and signing agreements to find ways to fight the effects of illegal mining together.
Both presidents received cheers from Ghanaian and Ivorian nationals on the arrival of the Ivory Coast leader on Monday.
The latter took some minutes to call on his countrymen living in Ghana to come home and help build the country.
Ivorians fled to neighboring Ghana in 2010 amidst post-election conflicts that escalated into armed battle.
The Electoral Commission had declared incumbent Laurent Gbagbo, who had been ruling the country for 10years, as winner of the 2010 polls but that result was rejected by then opposition leader, Alassane Ouattara and the international community.
