The Indefatigable and ever smiling Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Constituency and also Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah has carried out repair works on the Tetegu main and bypass roads as part of measures to upgrade access roads in Weija-Gbawe constituency to aid human and vehicular movement.

The repair works which commenced yesterday Friday October 13, 2017 involving leveling and reshaping of the main and bypass stretch of roads in Tetegu, a community in Weija-Gbawe Constituency in the Greater Accra Region received applause and praise from residents.

The main purpose of the upgrading is to make the roads accessible to facilitate humans and vehicular movement in that part of the constituency. The repair work on the above mentioned roads is necessitated by complains brought to the door step of the Honourable Member by residents in Tetegu. The upgrading is carried by Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah in collaboration with the Ga South Municipal Assembly

In a close up chat with some opinion leaders who were sited during the repair works on the Tetegu main and bypass roads, remarked that the poor nature of the roads have been a major issue of concern to residents living in the community and that they are grateful to the timely intervention by the MP. “The poor nature of the roads obstructs both humans and vehicular movement each time there was a heavy down pour of rain” some opined among other comments.

The Member of Parliament for the Area, Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah who is also a resident in the said community stated in an interview granted that, she has lived in Tetegu for a very long time and she is completely aware of what residents including herself go through before and after the raining season.

She admitted that the land on which the community (Tetegu) is situated is swampy; and therefore the community needs good drainage system along the main road to ease the flooding situation in the community. “The repair work which involved leveling and reshaping of the tetegu main and bypass roads is part of a temporal measure which will soon give way to a permanent measure to put to rest the poor nature of the road” she stated.

She emphasized on the fact that, the main Tetegu road which stretches from the Kasoa main road has been awarded for contract and the tractor has been on site to carry out some works as well as feasibility studies on the road after the rains, pending to be graveled. According to a close source in the community, the contractor has run out of funds hence the delay of the completion of that stretch of road awarded during the erstwhile administration.

The most famous and celebrated Member of Parliament assured residents in the said community to exercise some restraints as plans are far advanced to get the contractor on site to complete the road to make it accessible to all.
