According to renowned sports journalist, Sadick Adams [Sports Obama], the Ghana Football Association paid a whopping amount of $400,000 [17.5 Billion old cedis] as an inducement for the referees who handled Ghana's 2014 World Cup first leg playoff at home against Egypt in 2013 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Moroccan referee Bouchaib El Ahrach was appointed by CAF to officiate the match and was assisted by fellow countrymen Yousef Mabrouk and Mohamed Al Ahmadi.

The Black Stars walloped the seven-time Africa Champions by 6:1 at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.

Ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the then Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye disclosed to the public that he and his government will not pay any indemnity and unclassified monies.

He further challenged the Ghana Football Association to explain to the public the meaning unclassified money and indemnity but the FA disclosed that they are not ready to give out any explanation to the public.

The vociferous sports journalist made this known by posting it on his official Facebook page and it reads:

UNCLASSIFIED PAYMENT (REFEREE INDUCEMENT)
On record, the Ghana FA took $400,000 from the Government of Ghana coffers and claimed to have used it to pay the referees of the Ghana vs Egypt World Cup qualifiers in 2013. $400,000 dollars as an inducement for referees. That is 17.5 billion old cedis.

Now, the Vice-chairman of the Black Stars, Winfred Osei Kweku Palmer says Hon Nii Lante Vanderpuye, and the current government refused to make money available for referees and blames that for our failure to qualify for the World Cup.
