Construction has begun on the Ntarentare-Brodomase road at the Sekyere Kumawu district in the Ashanti.

The 7.5-kilometer project expected to be completed within six months forms part of government mechanisms in enhancing the lives of the citizenry through infrastructural development.

The Ntarentare-Brodomase road is among the deteriorated road network hindering activities from the people at the area.

The area, predominantly farming area has been facing difficulties in walking several kilometers before taking a car at next junction before sending their goods to the market.

Many of their farms produce get rotten due to transport challenges to carry their produce to the market.

Students at this area need to walk many kilometers to school. The situation has really hindered most children at the school going age even to access free education.

In health-wise, pregnant women also need to be carried by strong four men in either mat or in cloth to the hospital for delivery.

Residents say the projects will ease them from many forms of challenges confronting them.

The district chief executive Hon. Samuel Addae Agyekum inspecting the project said it will help enhance planting for food and jobs upon completion.

This he said will help create jobs for the teaming youth at the area.

According to him, it forms part of government effort in bringing governance to the doorstep of the people at the area. He said the rickety nature of the road needs urgent attention to serve the people.

He mentions that the project will also enhance education, health accessibility and increase food production.

Commenting on the one district one factory project, Hon. Agyemkum hinted the district is implementing mechanisms engaging in cassava processing and peanuts factory.
