On Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Board

On Youth Employment Agency YEA Board

I start by congratulating Sammy Awuku, our Board Chairman, who is not just extremely competent, but also a thinker and a hardworking citizen suitable for the position. I am very happy for the rest of the able-bodied colleagues selected to serve on the YEA Board. Now, how about me ...?

How come I turned down offers to be chairman of many depts/agencies but decided to SERVE as an ordinary member of the YEA Board?

Those who like me have wondered and questioned my decision. Those who dislike me have started their usual childish and evil games.

Let me make it simple. I have lots of experience working with the youth and recognise them as our future leaders . They need the wisdom and experience of the old to guide and assist them, and not control them. This is my approach and the strategy here is to encourage more seniors to accept to SERVE in critical areas where their Servant-Leadership skills and periodic inputs would effectively impact and transform the YOUTH to quality ADULTS. Jesus Christ demonstrated this trait of servant-leadership by washing the feet of His disciples (John 13:5).

Of course I know some people will always look at negative and destructive sides of everything. I can only pity them, but pray for them. Bravo and thanks to those who have ears to listen.

Best wishes
Kwame Amoako Tuffuor
