There are few names in Africa, and the world for that matter, that are mentioned in the same breadth as *Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah*. Hailed as Africa’s Statesman of the 20th Century by the African Union (AU), the ever charismatic Ghanaian leader set the pace in Ghana’s development establishing a plethora of uncountable national projects which benefitted generations past and the generations yet to come. A visionary leader by all standards.

To commemorate 2017 founders Day ,YWB Ghana believes that a vibrant youth with collective voice is our best bet for becoming a better and an outstanding Nation. There is no doubt that the youth of any country and the youth of Ghana specifically, are recognized as constituting an important source of human capital for socio-cultural, economic and political development. Africa do not need only Natural Resource to develop but to harness the rich and abundant Human Capital it owns.

Successive governments since the overthrow of Nkrumah in February 1966 have come out with youth policies that have an impresa of Kwame Nkrumah’s especially the Young Pioneer Movement. The National Youth Employment Programme launched by the erstwhile, Kufuor administration that has gone through several faces and now Youth Employment Agency is one of such great policies that draws inspiration from Dr. Nkrumah's Young Pioneer model and the youth policy of the 1960s.This is a pointer to the fact that Nkrumah pursued a youth policy that was indeed designed for development.

We however, say that, now that the significance of Nkrumah’s ideas and policies in Ghana and Africa as a whole have been fully recognized,YWB believes it is time to re-visit and resurrect some of his youth policies with a view of solving the current problems of rising youth unemployment, poverty and rural-urban migration that is flooding the urban centres of Ghana, especially the capital Accra and Kumasi.

As we mark *#NkrumahMemorialDay*,YWB Ghana is calling on government to strengthen Civic education, and political inclusion by young people. Civics for self-government was part of the school curriculum in the first republic and it inculcated in students the rights and responsibilities of the citizen. We advocate for same in the 21st century fourth republic of Ghana because it is an important tool for inculcating into our students the spirit of Patriotism, Consciousness, loyalty, self-governance and Pan-Africanism as Nkrumah.

Today, Thursday the 21st day os September, 2017, we remember the good works of the first President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr.Kwame Nkrumah, with the popular saying *Nkrumah Never Dies*

Long Live YWB!
Long Live Ghana!!
Long Live Africa!!!
