According to him, TDRI, a policy and a research think thank commenced a survey from the beginning of the 2017/2018 academic year to date to assess the school feeding programme which is currently being implemented in Weija-Gbawe Constituency under the watch of Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah, the Member of Parliament for the the constituency.

Early last month, applications were received from applicants across the length and breadth of Weija-Gbawe constituency to select qualified caterers to man the school feeding in schools in the Constituency. following the applications filed , some selected women were short listed for interviews and subsequently given the school feeding contract to feed pupils in the kindergarten and primary.

The Executive Director for the Teacher Danquah Research Institute (TDRI) applauded government for rolling out the programme successfully at the beginning of the academic year. He was quick to entreat government to release funds on time to enable the caterers provide quality and balanced meal to children of school going age across the country. He added that, the caterers have started well and if they are not paid on time, the quality of food served to the pupils will be affected.
