Sunday, September 17, 2017, will remain indelible in the minds of all the faithful in the Ga West Presbytery, Greater Accra Region, of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG).

Rev Daniel Amoako Nyarko, the Presbytery Chairman, broke the ground for work to commence on two manses, offices, auditorium, among other facilities, at Manhean, Ga West Mission Field, of the Presbytery.

The event formed part of activities marking the first anniversary celebration of the Presbytery.

Actual work is expected to start sometime in 2018, according to Rev Amoako Nyarko, who spoke to DAILY GUIDE after the sod-cutting ceremony.

Delivering the sermon earlier, he called on the government to expedite processes that would ensure the rehabilitation of the Ablekuma-Afuaman and the Amasaman-Manhean roads.

According to the Presbytery Chairman, when the above-mentioned roads are put in proper shapes, the whole area will develop rapidly and improve the economies of the inhabitants.

He indicated that the church's projects would create jobs in the course of their execution and also when completed.

Rev Amoako Nyarko entreated the traditional rulers, especially of Manhean and Afuaman, to cooperate with the churches in the area to ensure the successful completion of the projects.

Expatiating on the theme for the homily, “Forgive as long as you live,” the Rev Minister encouraged the congregation – who were made up of representatives from the various districts of the church – to demonstrate love to one another.

“It is when you forgive and live in love with one another that the doors of heaven will open for you,” he articulated.

In a brief address, the Manhean Mantse, Nii Laryea Quartey, traced the history of the acquisition of the parcel of land by the PCG to 1899 and expressed profound joy that at long last, another aspect of the purpose for which it was acquired was going to be fulfilled.

He entreated everybody to cooperate with the church to make the long time dream come true.

Present were reverend ministers in the Presbytery, including Rev Maxwell Johnson Obodai Sai, Coordinator of the Mission Field; Rev Abraham Adjetey Sowah, Manhean Zonal Coordinator; catechists; generational and singing groups; traditional rulers – Nii Afuah VII, Afuaman Mantse and Naa Sakoa, queen mother of Manhean.
