A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon Francis Addai-Nimo, has stated that the implementation of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s free senior high school programme is in the right direction and very commendable.

According to him, ‘This is a huge and bold step and lets commend our president and the NPP government for their efforts’.

Hon Francis Addai-Nimo made the above statement on his Facebook wall.

‘Today, H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo together with the Honourable minister of education and other sector ministers launched the flagship education program, free senior high school to mark its take-off across the country’.

‘Now the dreams of many children will turn into reality. Thanks to the New patroitic party for delivering on their promise’. he added.

‘God Bless Ghana, God Bless NPP, God Bless Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’, Hon Addai-Nimo said.

About Francis Addai-Nimoh
Francis Addai-Nimoh was born in Asante Mampong, Ashanti, Ghana, to a police Officer, Solomon Godfred Addai and a trader, Akua Afriyie on 23rd March, 1965.

He had his basic education at various communities such as Abuakwa, Nyinampong, Asaam, Kwadaso and Jacobu because of transfers associated with his father's occupation as a policeman. After his baaic education, he moved to one of Ghana's most celebrated secondary schools, Navrongo Secondary School(NAVASCO), in the upper east region for his Ordinary Level(O'level) education. He later moved to Kumasi High School in Ashanti Region to study for his Advanced level( A'level) certificate.

His leadership qualities began to show at Navrongo Secondary School where he served as the scripture union president in the 1984/1985 academic year. At kumasi High school, as a new student, he ran for the senior prefect position in a competitive election and placed second. He then became the first assistant senior prefect.

He emerged as the overall best student(academics) in both competitve 1985 and 1987 year groups in the said schools.

After kumasi High School, he enrolled to study civil engineering in one of Ghana's prestigious university, kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he obtained Bsc honours(second class upper) in 1993. At KNUST, he continued to demonstrate and offer his leadership qualities in the service of the student body. He became the president of the outreach wing of the Inter-Hall Christian Fellowship in second year. He was appointed the first assistant secretary of the Student Representative Council (SRC) whilst in second year. Having had the experience in the SRC, he contested a keen election and won to become the president of the SRC in the year 1991/1992 academic year.

Addai- Nimoh undertook his national service duty at the National service secretariat, MPRAESO. He also took up a job as a teacher in St. Peters Secondary School.

In 1996, he undertook a job in COMPTRAN ENGINEERING AND ASSOCIATES as an assistant engineer. He later moved to Ghana Emulsion Company Limited(GECL) in the same year as an engineer. He was at GECL from 1996-1999 and later in 1999, he moved to FACOL ROADS, he was the project manager of the company. His work at FACOL Roads limited is something that remains unquestionable and he is considered one of the milestones that the company has tremendously benefited from.He stayed at FACOL for 4 years(1999-2003).

In 2004, he later moved to Ministry of Roads And Highways as a senior engineer. He monitored and supervised more government road project.

Addai-Nimoh is a member of one of Ghana's biggest political parties; the New Patriotic Party. Addai-Nimoh is a former NPP member of parliament for Asante Mampong constituency in Ashanti Region. He was first elected to the seat in the December 2008 elections and was re-elected in the December 2012 elections.

In 2008, he bodly resigned from the Ministry Of Roads and Highways and participate in the NPP parliamentary Primaries in the Mampong Constituency which he won by one vote and subsequently won the parliamentary election to become MP.

During the administration of president John Agyekum Kufuor , Addai-Nimoh served as a senior engineer under Roads and Highways ministry. His role was to monitor and evaluate all government of Ghana Road projects.

Francis Addai-Nimoh affectionately known as FAN declared his intention to contest the postion of presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party. He successfully filed his nomination papers for the postion. A special delegate's conference was held on 31st August,2014 to trim down the aspirants to five.FAN secured 2.98% of the votes and qualified to be part of the five to contest in october 18, 2014. Addai-Nimoh placed third in the contest and hence congratulated the winner, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. He worked closely , hand in hand with then flagbearer Akufo Addo to secure victory in the December 2016 elections.

Addai-Nimoh is married to his childhood sweetheart, Mrs.Stella Addai-Nimoh, a civil servant. They have been blessed with three children. Mrs. Stella Addai-Nimoh is a product of st. Louis senior high school and KNUST. Francis Addai-Nimoh is a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers, Civil division. He is currently serving in the private sector as he holds no public office. He is a christian and a member of the methodist church, Ghana.
