A  Wife's 'Leg Throw' And The Modern Husband 's Love

I hear the man says he loves his wife; even after falling short of how a man should act in defence of his priceless jewel. We know men had acted gallantly to defend their women from seductive men; male-theives skilled in the act of seducing others' wives.

But can you blame him? This is what is left of a man. This is what our new world offers us as manliness. The emaciated man can no more exhibit valiance in defence of his woman . He is only left to act like that boy who would run to cry to the mother with the remains of his play-thing that has been crushed by the bully.

Sad to say, the glory of the man is only in the past. It was in the past that men waged war to recapture their women that had been kidnapped by their contenders .

Greek myths tell us how Spartans had waged war against Troy to recapture Helen from the prince of Troy who had earlier abducted her .

Stories of men acting gallantly to protect their women against seductive dandies are not only in Greek myths.

In fact, where I come from, men associated moral weakness to the feminine ; and could fall for seductive men.

And so men in the long past would go the extra mile to protect the women they had costly married.

We are not talking about the present times when the cost of marriage rite is shared between the would -be couple to make the marriage ceremony hip.

Then, men toiled for a long period just to acquire 'one single wife'. And so when they had brought their wives to their 'own homes ' they did all in their powers to protect their newly acquired ' properties ' from seductive men.

And so men took all the precautions : physically and spiritually to protect their wives from the 'adventurous -wife- thieves '.

Men would bury charms at the entrances of their homes for other reasons and also to check their wives ; in case they yielded to their weaknesses and cheated on the men.

And the charms prevented women who cheated on their husbands from sneaking in into their husbands' homes.

And it was believed that women who attempted sneaking in into their husbands ' rooms after defying themselves outside suffered some mental sickness.

And so women who cheated on their husbands would avoid their husbands'shelters.

A woman who was known to have cheated on the husband was described as one who had ' thrown the leg' as translated from my local language.

But even in those days men loved their wives; even when they had given away their nakedness. And so men had provided a way for such erred wives to wash away their sexual immorality so they would be accepted back into their husbands" homes.

This was after the adulterous wives had confessed their adulterous sins to their own husbands: not in public.

Men then adored their own wives; and such adulterous iniquities of wives did not make men to love them less. They did not blame their wives for being weak; but perhaps would blame themselves for not protecting their naturally weak partners enough from seductive men.

In those days, the man who was cheated on , only addressed his anger towards that man who had taken over his property.

But times have changed. Modernity has affected the way a man would react when another man seduces his wife.

Manhood has evolved. Today's man has no desire to act gallantly to protect his 'babe'.

He does not aspire to have women sing his name in songs because he has acted honourably to save the love of his life from the villain.

In fact, today's man is not even interested in having his woman worshipped him like a king because he has acted so.

The man of today is not interested in anything female. He is rather interested in his fellow man.

And the few who have a little of such desires in the feminine , would want to be propped up to work to own a woman for himself.

He would give excuses for why he could not bring a woman to his home. In the end, he would only accept to live with a woman only under a partnership deal.

The woman must agree to bring half of what is needed for the marriage to add to the half that the modern man can afford.

The modern man enters marriage weak.
A man no longer marries in our time ; he only enters a marriage contract with an equal female partner.

Men no longer marry and bring to their houses. Men now visit their wives in their own acquired rooms.

The women now can
afford attendants who attend to them; they have no time to attend to their own husbands.

Today's man must give advance notice to the female partner before visiting her. It is for his own sanity. You don't want to go there to meet what would shock your very manhood.

And so when a man accidentally comes across a usurper who is in the act of setting fire to the groin of what he holds dear, he is unable to muster enough testosterone to act in defence of his own.

This is what the modern man is left with. How can you blame him for not being able to defend his wife against the seductive man?

How does a man lay down his life to defend an entity that he only have a share in?

The modern man doesn't feel he is responsible for his wife's security. He only knows that he is in some partnership deal with another human being made of his own image.

And so when he gets to the wife's 'own home' and found another there burning out with evil passion the thing he has some interest in, he does not know what to do.

He is left frozen. It does not come to him to defend his territory with all that he has: that is if he believes he owns anything.

And that is what the former man would do. He would go for that seductrous. He would make sure if he lives, he would not think of going close to another's property.

But the modern man stood there. Moaning how his very property crumbles down before him amidst the flame from another man's groin.

He weakly took his 'Chinese toy' and helplessly took images of his wife's nude self from the ruin of the destructive fire.

He would keep it to remind him of his loss. He would tell his mockers that he isn't a failure. He did tried and failed.

But the man could not overcome his pain. He falls into a serious depression.

In his melancholy, he loses the only prove of his best effort to the wind; ironically, the thing that proves he is less of a man .

The unruly wind takes the man"s toy with its vulgarity away.

Tragically, the memories of a man's humiliated self becomes a public property.

A man's ex-mistress private- nude -self becomes a public delight .

This is what is left of the modern man. And he loves his wife. He is no brute. He is a polished man.

He loves his wife : The modern way.
