Accra, Sept. 14, GNA - Two Trade Unionist have embraced the Free Senior High School Education, saying that it would eventually lead to an enlightened labour force.

They said the products would be able to acquire skills to improve productivity.

The Unionist, Mr. Solomon Kotei, General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) and Mr Augustine Saakuur Karbo, General Secretary of the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU), spoke on the benefit of the free education for trade unions at separate interview conducted by the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday.

According to Mr. Kotei the nation will have a new set of men and women who could create their own jobs to reduce the number of unemployed people in the country.

He therefore appealed to Ghanaians to embrace the scheme in the interest of nation.

Mr. Saakuur Karbo also said the free education would lead to the production of quality manpower which would make Ghana have comparative advantage over its neighbouring countries who have not started free education.

Mr. Saakuur Karbo said no one should sabotage the free education because it would affect the well-being of the future leaders.

He also commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo -Addo for implementing the free education and said he should not be discouraged by those who want to pull him down.
