HFC Bank Ghana Limited on Friday inaugurated a nine-member executive for the newly-created staff union of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) in Accra.

Emmanuel Mensah, National Chairman of the HFC Bank Staff Union said, “Today will go down the annals of HFC Bank Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the Republic Bank Financial Holdings, as the day on which staff of this great institution began to work in a comfortable environment, with the confidence that there is a union that will always seek to protect and preserve the best of the staff.”

Mr Mensah said the HFC Bank Staff Union had been formed with a clear conscience that quashed the initial notion held by a few persons that the union was coming to fight the authorities.

“The union would ensure that the bank and its parent company gain more attraction and an enviable name within our highly competitive industry. We will make HFC Bank the bank of choice in Ghana.”

Solomon Ashaley Kotei, General Secretary of ICU, who inaugurated the new executives, advised them to work as a team in the interest of all HFC staff.

He also called on the staff to work hard to help the company record more profits.

Other executives of the union included Akwaa Peprah-Odoom, Vice Chairman; Emelia Adomako Ansah, Secretary; Dominic Fiifi-Amoah, Assistant Secretary; John Aboagye Duodu, 1st Trustee; Kwaku Duah, 2nd Trustee; David Aguda, Executive Member; Mercy Araba Kartson, Women's representative and Kimberly Mutia Abdallah, representative.
