By GNA

Tarkwa, (W/R) June 9 GNA - The Tarkwa Circuit Court on Wednesday sentenced Kofi Mbri alias Rockson Akumani, a 21 year-old Farmer, to 10 years' imprisonment with hard labour for having sex with his 18 years old sister. He pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea. Police Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the Court presided over by Mr John Ajet Nasam that the complainant in the case was Okyeame Kwaku Adansi, a Farmer and a Linguist at Himan Chief's Palace.

Chief Inspector Asamoah said Mbri and Ama Kakra, who is three months pregnant, are the fourth and fifth born of their parents and they both lived with their parents at Kisiaho, a farming community near Prestea. The Prosecutor said on May 29 2005, Ama was returning home from Afukey village when she met her brother on the way. Mbri called her and proposed to have sex with her but she refused and took to her heels but the accused gave her sister a hot chase overpowered her and kicked her to the ground and taking advantage of the quietness of the place, he forcibly had sex with her.

Ama's shout for help proved futile as the place was far from the villages. The accused after the act warned her sister not to tell anybody else she would see.

Chief Inspector Asamoah said a Spiritualist in the area had a vision about the act and informed their parents and when Ama was confronted she confessed that her brother had had sex with her. A report was made to the Police and after investigation, Mbri was charged with the offence.
