Akufo-Addo to attend meeting on reform of the UN

Accra, June 8, GNA - Foreign Minister Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would lead Ghana's delegation to attend a meeting of the African Union's (AU) Core Group of three and Committee of 10 on the reforms of the UN in Abuja, Nigeria, on Thursday.

A statement signed in Accra on Wednesday by Mr Michael Ofori-atta, Public relation Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the meeting would discuss the report of the President of the UN General Assembly released on June 3. The AU's Core Group of three and Committee of 10 on the UN reform met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on May 13 to study the Report of the UN Secretary-General. Nana Akufo-Addo is a member of the AU Core Group of three.

The statement said after deliberations at the meeting, it was decided that another meeting be convened soon after the Report of the President of the UN General Assembly was released.
