Eight-year-old boy loses eye over mango

GNA

Aflao, June 7, GNA- Kukah Adadzi, an Agbozume based Farmer, was on Monday remanded in custody by an Aflao Circuit Court, for causing injury to the right eye of an eight-year old boy, Doe Adatsi, who refuse to offer him a ripe mango.

Adadzi pleaded guilty and would reappear before the court on June 15.

The court ordered Adadzi to pay three million cedis compensation to the victim whose right eye is permanently impaired.

Prosecuting Police Inspector George Bedzra told the court presided over by Mr Godwin Kwasi-Kuma that on April 16, this year, Adadzi went to pick mangoes under some mango trees at a spot near Agbozume.

He said Adadzi hit the eye of the boy with a cutlass and scorned the boy that he came from a family of mean people.

The Prosecutor said an eye specialist at the Comboni Hospital at Sogakope, where Doe was rushed to said, the eye would suffer permanent loss of vision.

The Presiding Judge expressed outrage at the behaviour of Adadzi and said the court would deal severely with him to serve as a deterrent to people who want to take the law into their hands.
