Ho, July 21, GNA - Madam Beatrice Akua Mahmood, Project Coordinator of the Ghana Federation of Disability (GFD) has said the Federation as part of its target for this year, was pushing for employment equity for its members in both state and private institutions.

Madam Mahmood lauded the government for handing over the operations of some toll booths to 80 PWDs, and said they were in talks with the sector Minister to engage120 more PWDs as promised by the government.

Mr Frederick Ofosu, Programmes Manager, GFD, called for the formation of disability networks to focus their activities on "inclusive society", especially employment opportunity for all and inclusive education.

He asked them to be accountable and transparent to attract support from all sectors.

Mr Elolo Agyei, the Volta Regional Chairperson of the Federation underscored the need to mobilise resources locally to push the agenda of the Federation.
