The driver relayed the information to the police patrol team on the telephone. The robbers opened fire when they spotted the police and the patrol team returned fire, killing one of the robbers identified as Kofi Attah, alias "Man".

The rest are Kwabena Atta, 34, Maxwell Akuffo, 23 and Ahmed Abiola, 26, also a Nigerian. The source said the police retrieved a locally made pistol with five rounds of ammunition and a toy pistol.
