Akim Swedru stakeholders propose three projects for the constituency

Akim Swedru (E/R), June 23, GNA - Mr Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the Member of Parliament for Akim Swedru, has said the government would abide by its stated manifesto policies for each constituency.

The policies are 'one village one dam', toilet facilities, warehouse for planting for food and jobs programme.

In this regard, he said, the one million dollar for each constituency would duly arrive and there is the need for each constituency to draw a plan that would meet their needs.

Mr Nyarko made this known to stakeholders of Birim South District at a meeting held to discuss the stated policy amongst others.

The meeting was attended by chiefs, assembly members and heads of departments of the Birim South District Assembly at Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region.

Participants at the meeting proposed using part of their 30 per cent share of the one million dollar to construct a lorry park, market and stores at Akim Swedru.

They said the three projects would generate income for the Assembly to undertake projects in the localities.

On his part, Mr Amponsah assured the stakeholders that the decision taken would be put before the Ministry of Special Initiative for approval and the outcome would be communicated to them.

Mr Ofosu Korankye, the Assemblyman for Akyem Adiembra Bebiaraneha Electoral Area, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting and extended gratitude to the organisers. GNA
