Holy Child SHS from the Central Region will look to be the first girls' school to make it to the semi-final stage of this year's NSMQ.
History is against the ladies at the NSMQ with no winner ever from a girls school. The last time Holy Child reached the quarter-final stage was in 2013.
In last year's edition were dumped by Nifa SHS at the 1/8 stage.
But they have done one better this year,progressing after a 1/8 stage victory over Eastern Region’s Koforidua Secondary Technical School and Halff Assini SHS.
Mawuli School beat Kumasi Sec. Tech. and Nsein SHS at the same stage.
The West Africa SHS beat Bueman SHS and Sunyani SHS to keep their hopes of a fairy-tale finish alive.
