Ghana’s Young Entrepreneurs Pays A Courtesy Call On The CEO Of YES

The management of GYE paid a courtesy call on the CEO of YES to establish strategic partnership between the two organizations.

The CEO of GYE, Mr. Sherif Ghali who led the delegation stated the Objectives and some Activities so far undertaken by the organization. He indicated that, GYE currently has a membership of over 6000 across the country, GYE was formed in 2015 with the aim to unite, engage and support young entrepreneurs in their pursuit for economic prosperity by driving production instead of buying and selling, advocate for reforms, provide business support services, information on funding source, facilitate access to credit, improve the business eco-system and enhance the entrepreneurship culture in Ghana.

Mr. Ghali, further indicated the readiness of GYE to partner with YES to empower young startups in Ghana. He pointed out some of models adopted by GYE in training its startups; provide strategic planning, Business plan development, business management, innovation process, business leadership & business ethics, financial management, risk assessment of businesses, branding, marketing and fulfillment of tax obligations. “With this training and coaching, we believe when the doors are open for applications, certified GYE startups and members will be qualified and ready for funding support from YES”. He observed

Mr. John Ampontuah Kumah CEO of Youth Enterprise Support welcomed the team and expressed his gratitude about the work of GYE, and added that he is looking forward to work with such institutions for the empowerment of entrepreneurs. He indicated that YES is ready to work with the group to achieve the national goal of building the private sector by promoting entrepreneurship.

“As the country moves towards a private sector-oriented economy, there is the need to promote and empower entrepreneurship.” He observed.

He stated the need for the youth to venture more into Entrepreneurship because government has allocated 10 million dollars for innovative startups which will be unveiled very soon.

Mr. Ernest Agyenim- Boateng, a Board Member of GYE, also call on the CEO to consider providing a business unit under YES, where young entrepreneur can receive support for their business plan and financial model to enable them access funds from external sources instead of relying solely on YES.

He also spoke about the upcoming project in partnership with Dr. Daniel Mckorley, Chairman of McDan Group of Companies, dubbed “McDan Young Entrepreneurs Challenges” to be launched on 29^th July, which seeks to identify and provide financial support to young entrepreneurs with sustainable business ideas. He ended up by inviting the CEO as Honorary Member of GYE.
