A former Presidential staffer and a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Adenta constituency in the Greater Accra region, Kojo Adu Asare has expressed shock on government stance that it did not asked the former Mahama administration to order 44 cars on their behalf.

Although the former legislature could not be emphatic on the date a meeting was scheduled for the then outgoing and incoming administration, he but added that there was a meeting where the President Nana Akufo-Addo asked the previous administration to order the cars.

Meanwhile, government has denied vehemently the accusation and asked the National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials who are making this wild allegation to prove beyond reasonable doubt.

Speaking on this matter on Kasapa FM’s ‘Si Mi So’ hosted by Akwasi Nsiah, Adu Asare wondered why government officials who were at the said meeting are mum but rather those who were nowhere near the flagstaff house are ranting.

Background:
The Minority in Parliament claims the Akufo-Addo’s government authorised the erstwhile Mahama administration to purchase 43 armoured cars at $9 million on its behalf during the Transition period.

But the Deputy Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said the allegation is not true.

The National Security Minister, Kan Dapaah has also denied the claim.

But the minority has expressed shock over the denial.
