NDC Must Stop Politicising Everything Under The Sun

By NPP, Germany
Press Release Late Capt Maxwell A. Mahama
JUN 5, 2017 LISTEN
Late Capt Maxwell A. Mahama

The Germany Branch of the NPP wishes to express it's condolence to the family of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, especially his wife, children, parents and the Ghana Armed Forces. The Captain was lynched by a mob at Denkyira-Odumase in the Central Region, after the residents mistook him for an armed robber. Over the years, innocent victims have lost their lives as a result of mob action and instant justice. The perpetrators have offended the collective conscience of Ghanaians.

It's quite unfortunate that the heartless officials of the NDC, especially Johnson Aseidu Nketia, Koku Anyidoho, Solomon Nkansah and others are making capital with their propaganda out of the unfortunate incident. It is needless for the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Aseidu Nketia to attribute the death of Captain Adam Mahama to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

The NDC accusing the President of presiding under impunity is mischievous. Capitalizing on the death of Captain Adam Mahama to score cheap political points at a time the country is grieving smacks of signs of irresponsible opposition. With their selfish and trivial political propaganda of lies and mischief, and from the way they are still talking recklessly as they did while in government, they surely are not aware of the cause of their defeat. The NDC propaganda theories concerning the death of Captain Adam Mahama are very insensitive, shameful and irresponsible.

This is not the time to resort to the dirty politics the NDC is noted for. Any attempt to sidestepped the truth will be fatal and a step backwards to our democratic credentials. We must all do away with politics and fix culpability where it ought to be. Ghanaians are mourning the painful death of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama and would not accept any attempt at watering this sad episode with cheap politics.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has call for a full scale investigation into the matter with immediate effect, so as to bring all the perpetrators to justice. People taking the law into their own hands, especially visiting brutal acts on defenceless persons is not a civilised way of dealing with issues. The Police has started putting in place measures to eradicate mob action which has been with us for decades. Ghanaians must have confidence in our security and judicial system, as it's not right that we take the law into our own hands.
