Guwahati: Senior robotic oncology surgeon from Manipal Hospitals Bangalore, Dr Ashwin Rajagopal attended the ‘Evening with a Doctor’ program at Guwahati Press Club (GPC) on 27 May and offered free consultations to over 40 media persons.
The participants also got their blood pressure checked by the hospital’s northeast representative Rahul Sarma.
The last Saturday media clinic at the press club was conducted by ENT specialists from Down Town Hospitals namely Dr Dhrubajyoti Datta and Dr Roshan Bonde, where they offered free consultations to over 30 participants.
The participants also got their blood pressure checked by health workers in the camp. The 3 June evening camp is scheduled for physician & health workers from the city based GNRC Hospitals.
The unique healthcare initiative was launched by eastern India’s pioneer pressmen’s organization (GPC) last year for the benefit of its member-journalists along with their dependents.
Assam’s Dispur Hospitals initially supported the endeavour with raising a doctor’s chamber at the club premises.
The city based hospital under the leaderships of Dr Jayanta Bardoloi also conducted the first episode of evening OPD clinics.
Practicing doctors from Apollo Chennai Hospital, Medanta-the Medicity Hospital, Narayana Super-Specialty Hospitals, Swagat Super-Surgical Institute, Sankaradeva Nethralaya Guwahati, Wintrobe Hospital, Barthakur Clinic, Nemcare Hospital, Rahman Hospitals, Sun Valley Hospital, Sight First Eye-Clinic, Government Ayurvedic College, MMC Panbazar, Institute of Dental Science & Research Center etc have attended the camps till date.
