MAY 29, 2017 LISTEN

Rowdy youth suspected to be supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party locked out workers of Export Trade, Agricultural and Industrial Development Fund (EDAIF) in Tamale Monday following allegation the CEO is providing credit facilities to only members of the opposition.

The youth on motorbikes drove out the workers who reported to work and locked up the facility and left contact details for possible negotiations.

The group leader Musah Fuseini Dangomah said though he was not consulted about the action of his members, he endorses their action and open for talks.

According to him, his men have been complaining about the attitude of the CEO towards members of the NPP who “suffered to bring the party to power”.

He said farmers and traders perceived to be members of NPP were treated with disdain and sometimes “we’re denied of credit facilities by the CEO”.

The men ultimately are demanding that all workers should be sacked and their members employed since their party is in power.

There were no security presence and the workers willingly complied without any resistance. The CEO was absent at the time of the attack and no one was hurt.
