By Office of Fred Amankwah – Sarfo
Press Release To All Muslims On The Occasion Of The Commencement Of Holy Ramadan
MAY 25, 2017 LISTEN

Ramadan is the holiest and most awaited Islamic month. It is also considered as one of the significant pillars of Islam.

Our Muslim brothers and sisters across the world begin the month of Holiness, devoting themselves to worship and to pray to Allah in sincerity, spiritual reflection and fasting from dawn to sunset by those who have physical capability.

On the occasion of the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Office of Fred Amankwah - Sarfo wish to extend warm felicitations to the Chief Imam of the Republic of Ghana, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, the Second Lady H.E. Samira Bawumia and their families and all members of the Muslim community in Ghana and other parts of the world, a very successful holy month of Ramadan.

The Holy Qur'an 2:183 states "Oh you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may learn piety and righteousness.”

We are assured as always, that our Muslim brothers and sisters will use this year’s Holy Ramadan to pray for the Government and People of Ghana, the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo and his wife, the First Lady H.E Rebecca Akufo-Addo (Mrs.), the Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, the Second Lady H.E. Samira Bawumia (Mrs.) and their families, the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Mike Ocquaye and his wife, Mrs. Felicia Awusiki Ocquaye, (nee Azu), the Leadership and Members of Parliament and their families, the Chief Justice, Justice Sophia Akuffo and all the Justices of the Superior Court of Justice and members of the Judiciary of Ghana, Ministers of States, Chiefs and all people in leadership and decision-making positions, of Allah's guidance and blessings to serve this country in a manner that will transform the nation for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

I humbly urge our Muslim community to use this special Holy month to pray for Ex- President H.E. Jerry John Rawlings and his wife H.E. Nana Kunadu Agyemang Rawlings, Ex-President H.E. John Agyekum Kuffour and his wife H.E. Theresa Kuffour (Mrs.), H.E. Ernestina Naadu Mills,

wife of Late President John Evans Atta Mills, Ex-President H.E. John Dramani Mahama and his wife H.E. Lordina Mahama (Mrs.), leadership of New Patriotic Party, the Acting Chairman, Hon Freddy Blay and the Acting General Secretary Mr. John Boadu and all national, regional, constituency and polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party and their families for Allah’s guidance, protection and long life.

I am of a firm belief that all of us will join our Muslim brothers and sisters be pious and righteous by emulating the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and do more good deeds in this blessed month of Ramadan.

Zaid Ibn Khalid reported that the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said: "He who provides for the breaking of the Siyam of another person earns the same merit as the one who was observing Siyam without diminishing in any way the reward of the latter”. (Tirmidhi)

It is my fervent hope and prayers that this Holy Month will be as successful as it has always been.

I take cognizance from the Holy Qur'an 2:286 that "Allah doesn't burden a soul more than it can bear."

On behalf of my family and my team, we wish all Muslims, Ramadan Mubarak.

May Allah bless us all
Thank you
Signed:
Fred Amankwah – Sarfo
