GHUMCO gas explosion victims receive support

Sekondi, May 25, GNA - The Management of Stanbic Bank has donated assorted medical supplies to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital to assist in caring for the victims of the recent gas explosion at GHUMCO Aluminium works in Sekondi.

The items, valued at 20,000 cedis include; surgical and disposable gloves and bed sheets.

Mr Richard Duku, Western Regional Manager of the Bank urged Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of savings especially for rainy days.

"It is rather unfortunate for our brothers and sisters to suffer from this disaster...but savings and insurance can guarantee some level of hope in this difficult times".

Dr Richard Anthony, Acting Medical Director of the Hospital expressed appreciation on behalf of the victims and promised that the items would be put into good use.

He said caring for such people required regular supplies and called on other institutions to come to their aid.
