Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation celebrates rally

Agona Nsaba (C/R) May 24, GNA - Muhammad Kofi Twumasi Nayyar, Education Officer of Central East Majlis Khuddamul - Ahmadiyya Utema'a (Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation), has called on Ahmadi's to strive for high positions in the domain of spiritual and moral progress.

Muhammad Twumasi Nayyar made the call when he spoke at the 35th Annual Regional Rally (IJTEMA'A) of the Central East Region branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation held at Agona Nsaba in the Agona East District.

The three -day rally was on the theme: 'Self Reformation the Panacea to Societal Development.'

Muhammad Twumasi-Nayyar who is also a Legal practitioner said, globally where change in attitude of the people, such as avoidance of bribery and corruption, indiscipline among others had led to societal development.

'I hope, it is against this background that President Akufo Addo in his inaugural address admonished Ghanaians to be 'Citizens and not spectators'.

'If we must reform ourselves, all ills, social and economic challenges the country is encountering will be removed and an atmosphere of love, affection and brotherhood will be established which will make life on this earth like paradise,' he said.

Speaking on the theme he stated that, it was apparent that self-reformation, such as improving one's self was dependent on two things, forbidding evil and doing good adding that, Mankind is not perfect with respect to his actions, but has been given the necessary respite to reform himself till his death.

Muhammad Twumasi-Nayyar said, revolutionary changes in the world cannot be made at a snail's pace, it required a complete transformation within each and every one and with regard to a person claiming to be a Muslim should be reformed by forbidding evil deeds and do good that society development would be witnessed.

He emphasised the need for every Ahmadi to create an enabling atmosphere wherever they may find themselves in the society, instead of increasing malice, an environment of love and affection should arise.

Mr Ishmael Nana Ogyefo, Agona West Municipal Coordinating Director, a Guest of Honour of the programme, urged Muslim youth, not to take their education for granted, but should rather concentrate on their books rather on things which would not bring development into their life.

The Coordinating Director who is also an Ahmadi said acquiring the requisite knowledge and skills through education could not contribute effectively towards the manpower development of the country.

He asked the youth to shun all negative activities, be honest, assertive, act with integrity and make good use of the tuitions given them during the three- day programme to help you attain self-reformation to become good patriots.

Mr William Freeman of Gomoa East Assembly commended the organisers of the programme for choosing the theme and added that people need to change their attitude towards the environment and channel their energy at doing good things which would help create a conducive environment to live in.

He mentioned ignorant, prejudices, hatred, arrogance, as some of the enemies of self-reformation.

He said when these vices were eschewed one could be said to on the path to realisation to help make the country a place of choice.
