afb Renovates Police Clinic

afb Ghana Plc, a financial institution, on Thursday handed over a refurbished clinic at the National Police Training School at Tesano to the police administration as part of its strategic social investment to promote quality healthcare in Ghana.

The facility, which serves over eight suburbs in its catchment area, has been renovated and upgraded to improve services to the general public.

Managing Director of afb, Arnold Parker, said at the commissioning ceremony that “afb showed keen interest in rehabilitating the clinic due to its strategic location and the number of people it serves when it received the request to assist in rehabilitating the Clinic.”

He also mentioned that afb has supported the construction of a new office complex at the Ghana Police Headquarters and various projects over the years.

Mr. Parker further added that “over the years, afb has made other interventions for the Ghana Police Service, including the donation of bags of cement for the construction of a new complex at the police headquarters, donation towards the security services games and now this clinic.”

He further declared that afb intends to play a significant role in healthcare financing in the coming years.

This will take the form of accessible and responsive solutions to players in the health delivery industry, including pharmaceutical distributors, hospitals, health equipment distributors and healthcare workers.

Director-General in-charge of Human Resource Development, Commissioner of Police Beatrice Vib-Sanziri, at the ceremony, commended afb for the timely intervention and mentioned that the training school will regularly see to the maintenance of the facility to ensure that the lifespan is prolonged.

He also charged the staff of the clinic to be very diligent and exhibit high-level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

He encouraged corporate Ghana to emulate afb and other companies, who partnered with it to refurbish the health facility to touch the lives of Ghanaians in different ways.
