The chiefs and people of Gomoa Fetteh, a farming community in the Awutu Senya District of the Central region, have appealed to investors to consider investing in the area to create employment for the youth.

Speaking over the weekend at a press conference at Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Abor Yamoah II, chief of the town, said the time has come for investors, both local and foreign, to turn their attention to Gomoa Fetteh due to its strategic location on Ghana's coastline and also the vast lands it offers for any kind of development.

He therefore advised the media to help market the town to attract its fair share of developments under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's 'One District, One Factory' initiative, adding “there are vast lands for any investor. We are ready to offer investors any assistance they need to ensure a win-win situation for both of us and also a better future for our present and future generations.”

Located off the Akotsi Junction on the Accra-Winneba Road, Gomoa Fetteh, which is barely a two-hour's drive from Accra, is traditionally known for its buoyant fishing activities.

Its beaches are among the best in Ghana to stroll and admire the Atlantic Ocean.

Nana Kwesi Quansah, Asafohene of Gomoa Fetteh, in an address, called on the Lands Commission to help the chiefs and people of Gomoa Fetteh to protect their lands from dubious people who sometimes encroach on their lands for personal gains.

“We want to protect our lands from those people who are parading as estate developers. We are a peace-loving people who are law abiding.”

Nana Ekow Enyinda, Gyasehene of Gomoa Fetteh, also appealed to the media to shun all the negative stories intentionally created and planted in the media by certain anti-development elements just to deny the town of the development it so much craves.

“Through the good leadership of Nana Abor Yamoah II, Gomoa Fetteh has been able to achieve unparalleled growth. And these include the construction of a police station, a market, a clinic and other infrastructural developments. So we invite investors to come to Gomoa Fetteh and create more jobs.”
