Is Woyome the Only NDC Robber-Baron, General Mosquito?

It is maliciously disingenuous for opposition political cynics like Mr. Johnson Asiedu-Nketia to pretend as if it was only then-Candidate Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who made electioneering campaign promises in the lead-up to Election 2016 that could not be fulfilled within a temporally short span. To be certain, then-President John Dramani Mahama made even more unrealistic campaign promises, especially when one reckoned the fact that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had a far better track-record of fulfilling the most significant of its electioneering campaign promises to Ghanaian voters, in particular those dealing with social intervention or the welfare of the poor and destitute, than the leaders of the now-main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) – (See “Retrieve Woyome’s Money to Fix Economy – Asiedu-Nketia to Akufo-Addo” Razzonline.com / Ghanaweb.com 5/17/17).

Predictably, the career General-Secretary of the National Democratic Congress appears to have so soon forgotten that one of the first promises that then-Interim President John Mahama made to the Ghanaian electorate in the lead-up to Election 2012, was the immediate retrieval of Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome’s loot of GH₵ 52.2 million, stolen from our national coffers with the criminal complicity of then-Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Betty Mould-Iddrisu, and her bumbling deputy, Mr. Ebo Barton-Odro. Not that Mr. Mahama did not try, even if the attempt only exposed the protagonist and his key cabinet associates for the hypocritical and congenital liars that they veritably are. Which very well explains Mr. Woyome’s threat to publicly expose these criminal collaborators who have been pretending all these while to be innocent of their own neck-deep complicity in this most scandalous of all government rip-offs in the postcolonial history of Ghana.

We even had Mr. Kwesi Pratt, the notorious NDC propagandist, reportedly claim to have received a piddling cut of the Woyome loot. Other prominent NDC operatives, and there may well be some NPP beneficiaries, named on the Who’s Who’s List of the vanguard operatives of the National Democratic Congress have been mentioned. And so who is Mr. Asiedu-Nketia trying to fool, when the man popularly called General Mosquito cynically, and sarcastically, calls on President Akufo-Addo to retrieve the Woyome loot, in his publicly pledged bid to liquifying the effectively frozen or wrecked national economy once again?

At any rate, while it is something to reckon with, in terms of the greater scope of the national economy, nevertheless, the Woyome Loot is decidedly only a proverbial drop in the bucket. Besides, Woyome’s is only one of tens of national treasury loots unconscionably orchestrated by operatives of the National Democratic Congress that have come to the attention of our national security agencies. All the others effectively remain at large, except for Mr. Ibrahim Mahama’s who, thanks, once again, to the singular vigilance and steely patriotism of Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, the firebrand Assin-Central New Patriotic Party’s Member of Parliament, was brought to account by agents of EOCO – the Economic and Organized Crimes Organization – recently.

Could it be that Mr. Asiedu-Nketia has a comprehensive list of the NDC looters of our Commonwealth that the career economic parasite is willing to readily make available to the Akufo-Addo Administration upon request, as his uniquely patriotic and selfless contribution to the government’s economic recovery efforts? If so, then General Mosquito has absolutely no need wasting everybody’s time with pointless propagandistic speechifying, when he has a critical part of the answer and/or key to our national economic recovery effort.
