A BURKINABE importer is battling with his life after he was shot by suspected armed robbers on Saturday night at Community 4, a suburb of Tema in the Greater Accra Region.

The victim, Parry Iddrisu, a 38-year-old Burkina Faso national domiciled in Ghana was shot in his right thigh with the pellets hitting his testicles by the unknown assailants who made away with his CFA 28 million cash.

He has been admitted at the Narh-Bita Hospital where he was rushed to by some residents of the area for medical treatment.

Eyewitnesses told DAILY GUIDE that the victim who is a clearing agent and an importer at the Tema Port closed from his office at the Community 4 at about 7.30 pm and was leaving the premises when the gunmen on motorbike attacked him.

He was said to be about entering his car holding the aforementioned money when the armed men accosted him and shot him.

According to the eyewitnesses the money was taken from him with some falling onto the ground but the armed robbers patiently picked them before escaping on their unregistered motorbike.

A report was said to have been made to the Community 4 Police who are investigating the matter but no one has been arrested so far.

Meanwhile, residents of the area said they are living in fear and panic of repeated robbery attacks by criminals using motorbikes.

They claimed that was the third time the victim and his colleagues in the office had experienced such robbery attacks with the most recent involving the boss of the company.
