Bewadze elders meets to discuss development

Gomoa-Bewadze (C/R), May 13, GNA - Nana Obranbir II, chief of Gomoa-Bewadze, near Winneba Junction, has advised his people to emphasise the education of their children to make a meaningful impact on the development of the area.

He said they should burry all their differences and unite towards the development of the community. Nana Obranbir was addressing stool elders, opinion leaders and unit committee members in the community at their monthly review meeting at Bewadze on Thursday.

Education, he said holds the key to development in all aspects of human endeavour and charged parents not to renege in providing their children with quality education that would put them in good stead to take up leadership positions in the future. On agriculture, Nana Obranbir, an engineer based at Tema, counselled the youth to embark on food and cash crop cultivation and appealed to the Gomoa District Assembly to institute special financial packages to entice the youth to go into farming. He said such support could be channelled through chiefs and local government representatives in the farming communities for equitable distribution in good time before farming periods commences every year. 13 May 05
