Word Digest: Christ Is The Rewarder

"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst" 1 Corinthians 3:16 NIV

The above scripture might not be new to you. Our body according to the verse is the temple of God. The scripture could not have put it better myself. But we have to agree that temple has to perform a task for a certain reward.

The reward will come from none apart from God through His Son Christ Jesus. What have you done? What are you doing? What are you planning to do? What will you do? What are you using your body for?

These are few questions people may ask. Everyone has a mission on this planet earth and that calling has a reward.

"Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done " Revelation 22:12 NIV

Again, what are you using your body for? Whatever you are using your body for has a reward. Deliberating on reward, rewards could be good or bad depending on one's attitude or lifestyle on this earth. Rewards to some extent aims at either promoting or punishing one based on an approach toward a work.

What are you using your mouth for? To gossip, insult, lie, blaspheme, chastise, backbite or spread the Good News?

What are you using your time for? Is it to be deeply involved in the pleasures of the world than the Kingdom of God?

Rewards may come from a higher body or someone mandated to do so for a person who has either excelled or failed in an area of a calling.

So it is in the kingdom of God. Christ is the rewarder. Christ's reward for all is not with anyone but rather with Him only.

Today if you are to appear before the seat of judgment in Christ, what would be your reward? The second coming of Christ is true. The reward of heaven or hell is in the hands of Christ Jesus. If you are pleasing God in the right way do not stop. However if you are not, repent from whatever weight that beset you and cleave to Christ Jesus.
