Agriculture Agric Minister To Address International Conference In India

THE MINISTER of Food and Agriculture, Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, is expected to address an international conference in India on wide range of topics bothering on the developments and challenges confronting Africa's agricultural sector in general and Ghana in particular.

Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto will do presentations on five different topics and would attempt to make a strong case for the vast investment opportunities in Ghana's agric sector.

The conference, which is the Annual General Meeting of the African Development Bank(AfDB) will bring participants, mainly investors, bankers and government officials from across the world.

It is taking place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Province in India from the 22st-26th of May, 2017.

Amongst the topics Ghana's Agricultural Minister is expected to address include Women in Agriculture, Developing Africa's Grey Matter Infrastructure: Addressing Africa's Nutritional Challenges.

The Minister will furrher lead discussions on "Transforming Agriculture for Wealth Creation", Leadership for Agricultural Transformation" as well as Engaging Youth in Agriculture.

Ghana's Agric Minister will also have the opportunity to address participants on how the government of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, intends to transform the fortunes of Ghana's agric sector through the flagship "Planting for Food and Jobs".

Other Government dignitaries from Ghana include representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Bank of Ghana.
