Accra, May 11, GNA - The Ghana Football Association has at the end of its Extra-Ordinary Congress on May 5 decided to make amendments on its regulations.

It has also decided to amend the fines imposed on clubs, club officials and players to meet the rising cost of meetings of the judicial organs of the Association.

Mr Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the GFA in a Press release copied to the GNA Sports said the attention of prospective player(s) and club(s) is also drawn to the amendments to Article 30- of a Floating Player as follows:

In Clause Two; "a player wishing to apply for a floating status shall in addition to the application duly signed by him/her, pay a processing fee of 500,000 cedis, 300,000 cedis and 200,000 cedis for Premier, First, Second and Lower division clubs respectively".

Under Clause Four, (4) (a), "The service of document(s) inviting player(s) and Club(s) to appear before the GFA Player's Status Committee will be effected by sending the invitation by registered post fax or e-mail. For the purpose of this service, the proper address of a club(s) player(s) on whom a document of invitation is to be served by the GFA shall be the address provided by the player(s) or club(s) to the GFA". Clause 4 (b) states that "the Ghana Football Association Players' Status Committee shall not address any dispute under these regulations if more than two years have elapsed since the facts lading to the dispute arose. This is in line with Article 25 of FIFA Regulations for the Status and Transfers of players".

Mr Nsiah said the previous means of inviting player(s) and club(s) through the media to attend Player Status Committee meetings will have additional mode of sending registered mails to the player(s) and club(s) concerned.

He said any application for the declaration of floating status would only be processed upon the provision of authentic and reliable address.
