Could NDC Judicial Assassins Care More About Our Courts and Our Judges Than Their NPP Victims and Counterparts?

Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa is the young former Deputy Information Minister who, together with Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah, then also a Deputy Minister, staunchly backed by then-President John Evans Atta-Mills, rudely defied a Wood Supreme Court order to return his lawfully purchased landed and real-estate property to Mr. Jake Ontaka Obetsebi-Lamptey. And so in every sense of the word, Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa woefully lacks both the integrity and credibility to presume to impugn the judicial order releasing the indicted Delta 8 criminal suspects from prison custody.

But what is even more significant to point out here is the fact that Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa was probably not even born, and so has the very dear luxury of ignorance to muff up his memory bank about the wanton acts of barbarous depravity committed by the Rawlings-led Mafia thugs of the erstwhile so-called Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) against judges of the highest court of the land, and the institution of the judiciary itself, to be making the sort of inexcusably dangerous and outrageous comments that the Tongu-North’s National Democratic Congress’ Member of Parliament is widely reported to have made on an Accra radio station, in the wake of the court-ordered release of the 8 Delta Force members accused of forcibly springing 13 of their colleagues out of the prison custody of the Kumasi Circuit Court (See “Delta Force, Montie 3 Comparison Shocking – Ablakwa” Classfmonline.com / Modernghana.com 5/18/17).

For those of our readers who may have so soon forgotten their Mahama government-backed virulent assault on both the image and reputation of our Supreme Court judges and the institution of the judiciary itself, the Montie Three /Trio are the National Democratic Congress-sponsored talk-radio propagandists who were sentenced to four months of imprisonment, each, early last year, for threatening to have Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood literally raped, if the Chief Justice and her associates on the Apex Court, at least those who had either not been seated on the Court by an NDC President or were known to be ideologically sympathetic towards the cause of the then-main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), would be physically harmed if they did not condone or connive with the Electoral Commission (EC) to rig Election 2016 in favor of then-President John Dramani Mahama.

Now what makes the long-broadcast threats by the Montie Three/Trio far more serious than the Delta 8’s alleged springing of their 13 colleagues from judicial custody is the fact that Mr. Salifu Maase (aka Mugabe), the host of the radio program, and his regular companions, namely, Messrs. Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn, had also smugly invoked the June 30, 1982 Rawlings- and Tsikata-ordered brutal abduction and Mafia-style assassination of Justices Cecilia Koranteng-Addow, Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong and Poku Sarkodie to remind the Chief Justice and her associates of the seriousness of their threat.

We need to also highlight the fact that since the brutal assassination of the Accra High Court judges, the Rawlings Posse, going by the faux-democratic government label of the National Democratic Congress, has launched a relentless assault on both the members and the institution of the Ghanaian judiciary, including last year’s massive sting operation in which then-President Mahama secretly and, we might also add, illegally collaborated with famed investigative journalist and professionally trained lawyer Mr. Anas Aremeyaw Anas to expose at least a dozen High Court judges caught in various schemes of bribery scandals on both audio- and videotapes. Strikingly like the eternal law of the boomerang, Mr. Mahama would, himself, be exposed for having used his office as Vice-President to extort the bribe of an American-made Ford Expedition SUV, estimated to be worth $100,000 in 2010, from a Burkinabe contractor by the name of Mr. Jibril (Djibril) Kanazoe who, reportedly, had direct business dealings with the Atta-Mills government.

So it comes as absolutely no wonder that big-time NDC freeloaders like Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa would cavalierly deprecate the gravity of the death threats issued our Supreme Court judges by the Montie Three/Trio would-be judicial assassins. It is also rather outrageous for the former Deputy Minister of Education for Tertiary Affairs to presume to impugn the professional integrity of Judge Patricia Amponsah, for promptly dismissing the charges brought against the Delta Force 8 for lack of justiciable evidence. Now, here is the difference between how the cases of the Delta 8 and the Montie Three/Trio were handled that ought to worry every justice-loving Ghanaian citizen.

And, of course, it is the fact that then-President Mahama rudely and capriciously used his executive privilege and a rubber-stamp Council-of-State membership to spring the Montie Three/Trio out of the Nsawam Medium-Security Prison, where they had been serving a piddling 4-month sentence, each, behind bars. I have often wondered whether political con-artists and impudent scofflaws like Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa have cassava power or “kokonte” stuffed underneath their skulls.
